Keeping Summer Alive in Atlanta

With it being the middle of August and people going back to school and gearing up for fall, attempting to leave summer in the rearview mirror, there are some of us that are doing everything they can to hold on to summer as long as they can. Here are 3 things that you can do to make summer stay as long as possible.

1. Visit Skyline Park

Nestled on the roof on Ponce City Market, Skyline Park provides everyone who attends carnival-themed games, mini golf, frosé and an amazing view of our city. If you want to sit down and eat a full meal, you can hop next door to Nine Mile Station. You can usually find me on the roof beating my boyfriend in a round of mini golf and eating a walking taco (aka heaven in a bag).

2. Eat a King of Pops popsicle or get a KOP poptail

What sounds better than taking a stroll on the Beltline while enjoying a yummy King of Pops popsicle? The answer is drinking one of their poptails! Luckily for all of us, they have stations to buy their pops all over the Beltline, a window in Inman Park AND a stall in Ponce City Market. The stall in PCM has poptails for sale and, honestly, they are such a refreshing treat.

3. Go explore a new area of Atlanta

One of my favorite things about Atlanta in the summer is that there is always something going on, regardless of what part of the city you’re in. If there’s a new part of town that you’ve been itching to go to, do some searching to see if there’s a festival happening or a new restaurant that you can try! Recently I found myself OTP (outside the perimeter) at Avalon to try out a restaurant called Brine and their lobster roll. I was not disappointed and certainly will be back!

I hope that these three things help continue to spark and drive your love for summer here in Atlanta!
